Diane M. Bolden
Diane Bolden is an executive coach and organization
development professional with more than 16 years of
experience of coaching and consulting within both Fortune
500 and non-profit organizations. Prior to founding
Synchronistics Coaching & Consulting, she was a Senior
Consultant at Arizona Public Service (APS), the Southwest’s
largest electric utility company. Before coming to APS,
Diane was with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center,
a division of Catholic Healthcare West. She has also
consulted with numerous organizations in Phoenix and
surrounding communities, including Governor Jane Hull’s
cabinet and various Boards of Directors and non-profit/charitable
organizations.
Diane has a Masters in Business Administration from
Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree from
the University of Arizona. She is a Certified Corporate
Coach and a graduate of Corporate Coach University.
Diane’s passion is in working with successful leaders
who seek to continually improve themselves so they can
make a larger impact and contribution to their organizations.
Her clients are busy people who benefit from a custom-tailored
leadership development process that allows them to get
right to the heart of their challenges and tackle real
issues in real time. Examples of their objectives include
improving business performance and productivity, strengthening
key relationships, sharpening communication and influence
skills, building stronger teams, changing organizational
culture, making better decisions, constructively working
through conflicts, better managing their time, and designing,
proposing and/or implementing projects or initiatives,
among many others. Diane has also partnered with many
of her clients to help their teams and organizations
collectively identify and leverage their strengths and
opportunities in a variety of ways.
Diane has proven expertise in leadership development.
She has taught, facilitated and designed numerous programs
over the years, and worked with managers, directors
and vice presidents/officers and their teams to help
them learn and apply strategies for improving their
effectiveness. Her experiences led her to recognize
that people learn best when they are faced with challenges
that require them not only to develop new skills but
to effectively apply them. She complements this knowledge
with the philosophy that often what is required is not
only learning, but unlearning. As Diane works with her
clients to align their intentions and actions with desired
results, she also helps them identify and eliminate
habits, patterns and assumptions that keep them from
doing their best work.
Many coaches shy away from advising their clients, leaving
them at a loss as to how to best approach organizational
and leadership challenges. Diane draws from her experience
and knowledge of organizational behavior and leadership
development and blends it with a powerful coaching approach
that allows people to access their own wisdom and leverage
their strengths to rise up to challenges and opportunities.
Diane is a native Phoenician who is happily married
and blessed with three beautiful children.

"Diane has taught me how to be more productive yet work less. This was a completely foreign concept to me since I have achieved most levels in my career through hard work and then working harder. I had always worked under the assumption that I had to be "in control" for anything to really get done right. Diane has taught me to rely on the skills and abilities of others and to feel comfortable in delegating key tasks. This has allowed me to elevate my level of thinking to more strategic concerns. Another positive result of this lesson is that for the first time in my professional career, my stress level is down yet my productivity and results have soared.
Over the years, I have been through many management training programs, leadership seminars, behavioral effectiveness training, and motivational programs. While this training was helpful, none of these classes ever truly impacted me to the point where I changed my behavior. While working with Diane, I have changed my management style, my communication delivery, and my behavior. The past several months have been eye-opening for me and I have a renewed passion for improving myself not just to become a better manager but also to simply become a better person."

"I began my work with Diane in an effort to improve my effectiveness and better use my time in a way that would make the greatest contribution to my organization and community. The work we have done together has allowed me not only to be more focused and balanced, but also to become aware of the things I do that either contribute to my success or prevent me from getting the results I aspire to. Diane has helped me gain insight into how I am perceived by those I seek to build and maintain strong relationships with. I have utilized this newfound awareness to improve my interaction and communication with them as well as to address blind spots and leverage my strengths. The work I have done with Diane has allowed me to catch myself before falling into unproductive patterns and instead take action that brings about collaborative and creative solutions and lasting change.
I look forward to my meetings with Diane and feel they have benefited me both professionally and personally. The value she has provided has far exceeded my initial expectations."

"From the beginning, Diane’s coaching approach was to bring what I needed from where it already was – inside me. With this she blended a strong ability to know when I needed a bit of a shove and when I needed an ear or a heart. She also blended a fairly open free style approach (which is the only thing that would have worked with me) with, when appropriate, a more formalized focus to maintain movement toward agreed upon goals and objectives. I have always been a venturesome supporter of continuing growth, and clearly I saw my relationship with Diane as an opportunity to make quantum moves. To say I am satisfied would be a gross understatement.
Very directly, Diane has helped me to: adopt different communication styles when called for; avoid avoidance; manifest what I could see or envision; deal with tough personnel issues while at the same time being honest and compassionate; forge relationships where formerly there was historical baggage and confrontation; delegate; develop the people around me; connect learnings to both work and non-work and see them both benefit; have the courage to be honest; the strength to do away with a lot of fear; stretch my styles and body of knowledge; be a more credible and called for voice at the corporate table; and be rewarded and compensated fairly for what I do. To reiterate, the progress that Diane helped me cultivate manifests itself at work, at home and in my life.
As an aside, I have also had the fortune and pleasure of working with Diane as an Organization Development consultant in both my department and with the larger company and believe she demonstrates formidable skills in this area as well. I have watched and participated in some pretty tough groups that Diane took through visioning, planning, mission, strategy, tactics, and implementation with excellent results."

"Diane’s approach has been to uncover the underlying feelings and beliefs that are the root of my reactions and emotions. She helps me to alleviate stress and better focus on what my intentions and goals are and how to best achieve them. She has shown me that when I am where I need to be the work is effortless and joyful. With Diane’s help, I have increased productivity (my own as well as my team’s), decreased turnover, and achieved greater team effectiveness. These results have come about as a result of the work she has helped me to do on myself.
I am delighted with my experience with Diane. She has enlightened me and the work we do is a gift that has impacted all facets of my life. I would encourage anyone who would like to experience less stress and more success to enlist Diane as a partner in the process. Their work with her will exceed even their highest expectations."
